My Favourite Things

I became a Naturopath because of my passion for Health, I have always loved trying healthy food options, reading about our bodies, and what we put in them, as well as exercise. Since becoming a Naturopath I often get asked about what some of my favourite health products are, and I thought it was time to let you in on all of my secrets!

Exercise

Clinical Pilates

I have been doing Clinical Pilates on and off for about 5 years. It has been a way for me to help support my core, prevent and manage injuries as well as just a great form of movement that both my both and brain loves. It’s my form of yoga, a place where I can relax and be more zen in the middle of a stressful work day.

Cross fit

I only started cross fit in August this year, I hadn’t been exercising regularly as I wasn’t making it a priority for me. But I decided something needed to change and I picked joining the local cross fit style gym in Hamilton called “Empower Fit” for a couple of reasons. I liked the idea of group classes, as I can be pushed and motivated. I also found that the timetable suited me really well and I could easily fit it into my week. It has been one of the best decisions I have made because it is constantly changing and pushing me in a different way every single session.

Books

The Universe has your back

For those of you who have heard me speak before you may have heard me mention this book in the past. This is a great book for those wanting to change and improve their mindset. There are some amazing takeaways that I am sure everyone will be able to find a little gold nugget that they can relate to or change in their life. As soon as I read this book I can now believe everything happens for a reason and know that the universe has our back! You can find more information out about Gabby Bernstein here.

Beyond the Pill

If you are on the oral contraceptive pill you need to read this book!! But it would also be extremely beneficial if you are suffering from any hormonal imbalance or have just come off the pill and you’re feeling a little blah. I thought it was really detailed and easy for anyone to understand, it also has actionable steps to get your hormones back on track plus a 30-day recipe plan. Purchase the book via here or listen to the audio book here.

Food

Acai Bowl

There’s nothing more refreshing and cooling on a hot summer's day than an Acai bowl. I like to think I am a bit of a food critic when it comes to acai bowls and it seems to be that I cannot make them as good as Acai Brothers. They have franchies all around Australia, and do they ever know how to make it super thick and delicious with a beautiful crunchy granola mix to go on top. Trust me when I say they are AMAZING!! Find a store near you here.

Products

Fem21

This product is amazing for all women who are looking to support both their gut and hormones. It has fibre which is great for gut health as it can assist in feeding the good bacteria in our gut but also help build healthy stools. But not only that fibre can assist in balancing hormones as it can bind to any excess hormones and remove it through the bowels. It then has a number of herbs and nutrients that can support our hormones, gut and liver detoxification. It is also perfect for women from general hormone imbalance to PCOS to menopause and everything in between. You can order or find more information about it here.

Chai Tea

With summer just around the corner Iced Chai’s with Almond Milk are my favourite cooling drink. My chai tea which you can purchase here is honestly one of my favourites. It’s a fresh tea blend, no sugar like those chai powders and each bag is made with LOVE. Buy yours online today.

I hope some of these have been beneficial for you and you can try something new. I would love to hear about your favourite things.
