It's NOT okay to be constantly tired.

I hear it all the time "I am SO tired" - sometimes it can almost feel like a normal conversation starter, but I need to emphasise something.

It is not normal to always be tired.

Repeat that back to me. It is NOT normal to always be tired.

There are lots of different reasons you could be feeling tired. So, today I thought we could quickly discuss them.

Stress

Stress is a huge player in being tired. Your current stressors in life, combined with those which may have occurred in the past, which may have left your adrenals depleted. This is also called Adrenal dysregulation which is when the HPA axis does not function properly, and this leads to an imbalance in cortisol levels.

We live in a stressful world, and at the moment, stress levels are even higher than normal. So if you are not sleeping properly, you need to consider this.

Low Iron

Have you ever suffered from low iron, or considered that it could be a possibility for you? Having low iron is quite common, and there are a couple of reasons for that:

  • heavy periods

  • poor digestion

  • poor nutrition

Do anyone of those sound like you? if so, they could be playing a factor in you having low iron.

I would suggest that you need to get your iron checked. You can do this at your local GP. Just make sure you get a copy printed while you're there for your naturopath because we want to check that you're in the optimal range, not just OK.

Unstable blood sugar levels

How much sugar do you consume every day? The average Australian consumes 60 grams a day, that's 14 teaspoons. We are only meant to be having a MAX 4 teaspoons per day as an adult. I'm, sure many would consume a lot more, leaving you with sugar highs and follows with sugar lows.

Liver issues

Gosh, living in a toxic world we are exposed to so many toxins every day. Have you ever considered a liver cleanse??

Symptoms of liver issues

  • Waking up between 2am-4am

  • Waking up not refreshed

  • Hormonal issues

  • Central weight gain

  • Headaches

  • Skin issues

  • Yellow in the whites of your eyes

All of these could be the reason you are constantly feeling tired, but like I mentioned above. Being tired all the time is NOT normal. So if you are feeling like you are then considering reaching out to book a discovery call.
